Our Approach

Connect the conditions.
Advance the innovation.

Entrepreneurial leadership connects opportunity recognition with action under uncertainty. We examine how leaders, strategy, processes, culture, and change readiness work together, then focus on the capabilities your priority needs.

The thinking behind the work

Understand the whole.
Focus on what matters.

A delayed decision may look like a process issue. It may also reflect competing priorities, unclear sponsorship, or incentives that pull teams in different directions.

Jason D’Souza’s doctoral study explored the entrepreneurial leadership strategies healthcare business leaders used to advance innovation. Six themes emerged. The Synapse Catalyst Framework™ is SCA’s practical translation of those themes into six organizational pillars.

We use the framework to guide questions, understand constraints, and shape a focused response. It supports professional judgment and discussion; it is not a universal formula or a predictive scoring model. Your challenge determines which pillars we explore in depth.

The research behind the framework

Grounded in inquiry.
Applied with judgment.

Jason D’Souza’s 2023 doctoral study, Entrepreneurial Leadership Strategies for Catalyzing Innovation Performance, explored how healthcare business leaders approached innovation. Its six themes form the research foundation for SCA’s framework.

The study drew on semistructured interviews with six leaders across pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer healthcare sectors in North America and Western Europe, alongside organizational strategy documents and websites.

How to interpret the research

This exploratory qualitative study identified themes and practical strategies within the settings studied. It did not test causal effects or validate a diagnostic scoring system. SCA’s services, example measures, and framework applications translate these insights into professional practice. Applications to healthcare providers, other settings, and individual organizations require adaptation to their context.

The Synapse Catalyst Framework™

Six pillars.
A connected approach.

Six themes emerged from Jason D’Souza’s doctoral study of entrepreneurial leadership in healthcare innovation. SCA translates those themes into a practical six-pillar framework for examining how leadership, processes, and organizational conditions support your priorities.
